Arrival to Phuket and FantaSea Show

When Joanna and I got to our hotel we were shocked when we saw our room. We paid $50 a night for this nice little room. King size bead and our towels set up to resemble swans.
The view from our balcony.
Our bathroom, I was excited to see this was a toilet that we could actually flush the toilet paper. Our last place at the Island, couldn't flush the TP.
The funny thing with this bathroom is the shower. As you can see there is a glass wall about 2 feet from the head of the tub. But there was no sliding door to go to the end of the tub. So when we showered the water would end up on the floor. Because it would get on the back part of the tub (there was a black lining around the back and end of the tub of tiles) and it served as a gutter to send the water to the floor. The design of things here doesn't make much sense to me.
There was a group of guys down on the street from our room that were having lunch. It looked like good food and we hadn't had lunch yet. I told Joanna I could yell down and see if we could come join them. But she didn't want me to. I sure don't know why. They didn't end up eating it all. There was plenty to share. :)
This was a tiger hotel. All the decor was of tigers. That would have been an interesting place to stay.
Mopeds are used as the mode of transportation here. Across the street you can see moped after moped parked. This went on as far as you could see.
I thought this was funny. Ronald McDonald is holding his hands together in the Thailand way of greeting you.
The purse just above the red one has a snake head on it.
Here is the exterior of our hotel, purple building.
The evening of our first night we went to a show called FantaSea. This is the ceiling as we were waiting in line to pick up our tickets.

This place was a lot of fun. It was like a small amusement park.

The ladies greeting you and checking your tickets.

Lots of elephant topiary in Thailand.
I thought these phone booths were cute.
We went into a place where we saw animals, most of which were all white animals.
White deer.
Black and White Monkey
Look hard and you will see a White Peacock.

Pictures with the white fairy.

White Cockatoo
White some other type of bird.
Snake stone head.
Oh no, it got Joanna's arm.

White Tiger.
The building for the white tigers.

Joanna and the white tiger.
Me and the white tiger.
Parrots.
I know not white, but they are still pretty.
Look at the speed of that Elephant.
This is where we had dinner. As part of our ticket to the show we also got an buffet dinner.
Sneak peak of where FantaSea goes down.
Outside of the building for dinner across a pond was a band playing some music.
This was at the head of the room where we ate.
Dinning Hall.
This was on the fruit table. I saw pomegranate seeds so I got a cup to try it. When I got it back to the table and took a bit it was all gummied fruit. I have no idea how you make fruit gummy but all of it was. It was in a sugar water and was like eating a bunch of gummy worms.
This gentleman is Oleg, he and and his wife sat with us at our table for dinner. They are from Vladivostok, Russia.
We had a good time chatting with them through dinner. He brought his own Russian Vodka and kept asking if we wanted some. At the end he said I need picture with beautiful American girls. He handed his camera off to his wife to get his picture taken with us. Joanna and I both got a kick out of it.

When we headed over to the show the building was now changing colors. It was neat watching it change from blue, to purple, to red, to yellow, to green and kept going.

Joanna and her Korean style picture. I think this picture was for her dad because it drives him nuts when she does the Korean style picture.
Joanna so defiant.

Tusk chandeliers.
Here are some pictures from the show. We couldn't take pictures so I got these off the Internet to give you an idea of what we saw.

The elephants were awesome. They were tied for my favorite part of the show.
My other favorite part of the show was the acrobats that had on costumes that glowed in black light. They did their dance on the ceiling above where we were sitting. All we could see was them in a pitch dark room and it was really awesome to watch them glide and swing through the sky.
They also did shadow story to tell of the history to bring us up to speed for the foundation of the show.

It was an outstanding performance. Totally worth the experience and super cheap. I think we spent $75 for the show and dinner.

If you go to Phuket, you have to go to FantaSea.
